Open position: Computer vision engineer

In the LabLENI laboratory of the I3B Institute of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), we need to incorporate an expert Data Science engineer who is interested in applying his or her knowledge of artificial vision to the measurement of human behavior to apply this knowledge in sectors such as marketing, tourism, management, and organizational neuroscience, where we are leaders in technological innovation.

We are looking for an ambitious person who is not afraid to lead, is ideally capable and willing to grow in an innovative environment, and who is interested in ending up working in the business sector in an Institute that is an international benchmark in technological innovation projects in the areas mentioned above.

 

Tasks to be carried out

The selected person will join the Machine Vision Technical Unit, within the Innovation Area, and will carry out the following functions

Participation in relevant projects based on Artificial Vision research, innovation and development in all areas of Innovation of the Institute where he/she will apply his/her knowledge in Artificial Vision in projects where the latest technologies based on the measurement of behavior, the use of Artificial Intelligence and the use of Mixed Realities are applied.
Specifically, he will work on:
Development of Artificial Vision systems.
Development of Deep Learning models for image and video classification and segmentation.
Development and programming of real-time image processing algorithms.
Development of human gesture detection systems using real-time image processing.
Programming of embedded systems to be finally integrated for real-time operation whenever possible.

 

Qualifications required

Minimum Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree/Higher Degree. Ideally with a degree in Telecommunications or Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or related industry experience.
Advanced postgraduate training in Machine Vision
A PhD degree in Machine Vision would be an asset.
