EuroVR 2019 Scientific Track: ten days left to submit your work

Only ten days left to submit your scientific contribution to EuroVR 2019 International conference. The first date to take note is June 28, 2019: the Scientific Full paper submissions deadline.

THE CONFERENCE

The 16th EuroVR International Conference—EuroVR 2019—that will take place in Tallinn, Estonia on 23-25 October 2019, following Bremen (2014), Lecco (2015), Athens (2016), Laval (2017), and London (2018). This conference series began as part of the INTUITION Network of Excellence in Virtual and Augmented Reality supported by the European Commission from 2004 to 2008 and continued as the Joint Virtual Reality Conferences (JVRC) of EuroVR, EGVE and ICAT from 2009 to 2013. This 2019 conference is being organized by Estonian members of the European Association for Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality (EuroVR), namely the TalTech Mektory team at Tallinn University of Technology.

EuroVR2018: new early bird registration deadline, 14 september

A new deadline for the early bird registration has been defined: September 14th, 2018.

The conference EuroVR2018 provides one more week to take advantage of special fees. Early bird rates include: full attendance at the conference, lunch and refreshments during the conference, memory stick of conference proceedings.

Mimos: multiphysics simulation conferences – Rome 13-14 November

The events MIMOS Open Simulation Day and SimPhy – Convegno MIMOS su Simulazione Multifisica are organized by MIMOS, the Italian Movement for Modelling and Simulation, and they will take place at Casa dell’Aviatore, Rome (Italy) on November 13th and 14th, 2018.

MIMOS annually organizes its Scientific and Technical Conference on the applications of modeling, simulation and virtual reality in many areas of interest. Each edition intends to offer an overview on Virtual Reality and Simulation in Italy presenting the latest innovations in this field.

Eurographics 2019: open call for workshop

Eurographics 2019, the 40th Annual Conference of the European Association for Computer Graphics, invites proposals for co-located workshops with the conference.

Eurographics 2019 is an event organized by IMATI CNR, and it will take place from May 6-10 in Genoa (Italy). The conference aims to provide a unique platform for the computer graphics community to showcase latest techniques and educational work, and to explore new trends and ideas.

EuroVR 2018 CFP: ultimate deadline – 4th July 2018

News from the annual conference EuroVR2018 – call for papers: a new, but ultimate, deadline for the Scientific/Technical papers has been selected: July 4, 2018 23:59 CEST.

After a number of request, the submission deadline for Scientific/Technical papers has been extended in order to provide authors the opportunity to spread with an excellence label their innovative works within the wide community of end-users, from large industry up to SMEs.

EuroVR President: Keynote speaker at Salento AVR

EuroVR President Marco Sacco will contribute to the conference SalentoAVR as Keynote Speaker, giving a speech on “Augmented & Virtual Reality Enabler for the Factory 4.0”.

SalentoAVR is an international conference on Augmented and Virtual Reality which is taking place in Otranto from 24th to 27th June. On this occasion, EuroVR president will propose an analysis on the evolution of the manufacturing sector, the so call Factory 4.0, which requires the introduction of advanced tools for both the knowledge representation and simulation.

For over 10 years, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality have generated benefits in several sectors thanks to the potentialities offered by these visualization technologies able to provide an added value to the contents and data enrichment.

Manufacturing companies, thanks to the reduction of cost and a widespread of devices, could now take advantage integrating AR/VR to simulation and emerging AI. The result is a Virtual Factory, a full digital twin of the real plant, that could be used for several purposes, from design to monitoring and logistics, from reconfiguration to training. Some industrial applications will be presented.

EuroVR 2018 – CFP – Extended deadline

EuroVR2018 conference has extended the deadline for Scientific/Technical papers: After a number of requests, the GC chairs and IPC chairs have decided to apply an extension deadline up to June 29, 2018 23:59 CEST for the submission of  Scientific/Technical papers.

VR Expo – 5-6 July- Stuttgart

VR Expo is an exhibition for professional VR & AR applications which will take place on the 5th and 6th of July in Stuttgart at Arena 2036 e.V.

 

This is a unique opportunity to delve into themes concerning the use of VR & AR in different sectors, like medicine, industry and architecture.

 

The VR Expo will host 47 exhibitors and relevant institutes (e.g. Fraunhofer IAO, IPA, High Performance Computing Centre, VISUS) which will open their labs to exhibitions, giving access to their CAVEs, power walls and high-resolution screens. Moreover, the exhibition will offer space for tech talks and discussion dealing with VR for design, mechanical engineering, architecture and technology advances.

VR in industry-Congress Fair in Aachen-4th July

4th July 2018: after the first successful workshop in 2017, RWTH Aachen University is pleased to announce the second “VR in Industry – Congress Fair in Aachen”.

The event will be hosted by TEMA-Technology and Marketing in the city of Aachen, Germany, and it represents a chanche to find out the possibilities offered by virtual- and augmented reality, not only for new product development opportunities and new distribution channels, but also completely new ways of training customers and employees.

The program of the conference is wide: Prof. Latoschik, one of the most renowned VR scientists in Germany, will hold a Keynote Talk concerning the theme “From (A)vatars zu (Z)ero Latency”.

Beyond this lecture the event includes also many exciting initiative, like “VR in Science and Industry – Network NRW e.V.“ which will be presented closely to the workshop.
